Event 2004: "Leider fand ich im vergangenen Jahr keine Gelegenheit ein Konzert zu besuchen. Ich lebe im tiefsten Odenwald und die Wege sind weit. Ich hatte mich jedoch sehr auf das Wappenbund / Echo West Konzert in Heidelberg gefreut (sozusagen fast vor der Haustür), was bekanntermaßen, wie so oft, kurzfristig abgesagt wurde. persönlicher Wunsch: "Mein größter Wunsch sowie ehrgeizigstes Bestreben für das kommende Jahr ist die Realisierung, Umsetzung und Veröffentlichung der 'Nordfront' - 10" meines Projektes Le Testament De La Lumiere ..." Andreas (Lichttaufe) Top 3: Björk - Medula  "Zwar ist die Idee, ein Album zu produzieren, welches nur aus Stimmen besteht nicht neu. Doch die Umsetzung Björks ist erstaunlich und durchaus beeindruckend." Naqoyqatsi DVD "Die Zusammenarbeit von Produzent Godfrey Reggio, Komponist Philip Glass und 'Star-Chellisten' Yo-Yo Ma beim dritten und letzten Teil der sogenannten Quatsi - Trilogie ist ein ein bittersüßer Vorgeschmack auf die Apokalypse und zeigt recht anschaulich wozu der Mensch fähig ist." Sophia - Deconstruction of the World "Sophia hat mich von je her begleitet und gehören meiner Ansicht nach zu den besten Künstlern aus dem Bereich der Neoklassik." Evergreen: Devil Doll - Sacrilegium "... Die Symbiose von Samples, Orchester, Klassik - Rock und die ziemlich abgedrehte Stimme von Mr. Doktor machen dieses Album zu einem Meilenstein der Musikgeschichte" Event 2004: "Das Doro/Warlock-Konzert beim diesjährigen Wacken- Festival. Warlock und Doro haben mich seit meinem Grundschulalter begleitet, und dieses Jahr hatte ich endlich die Gelegenheit Warlock in der Originalbesetzung erleben zu dürfen." persönlicher Wunsch: "Für das kommende Jahr wäre es mein Wunsch das ich und meine Lieben von jeglicher schwerer Krankheit verschont bleiben." Michael (Lichttaufe) Top 3: "Das herausragendeste Album des Jahres war für mich Runes Order 'The Hopeless Days'.  Das Projekt des Italieners Claudio Dondo scheint 16 Jahre auf diesen Höhepunkt des musikalischen Schaffens hingearbeitet zu haben. Das Album war definitiv mein 'Sommer - Hit' des Jahres 2004. Unterhaltsame Stunden bescherten mir in diesem Jahr auch Lux Interna mit ihrem Album 'Ignis Mutat Res', mit welchem sich die Band nun auch in mein Herz gespielt hat. Aus dem Hause Forseti kam in diesem Jahr das Album 'Erde', welches in seiner sentimentalen Schönheit von einer fast unendlichen Größe und rein handwerklich eine positive Fortführung von Andreas Ritters musikalischem Werk ist." Evergreen: "Mein 'Alltime - Favorit/Evergreen' ist und bleibt neben Dead Can Dance wohl Death In June ... gemessen daran, wie viele von Douglas' Liedern ich auf der Gitarre spielen kann, ist diese Nennung wohl nur ehrlich ... " Event 2004: " ... Neofolk - Mini - Festival in Kolding/Dänemark ... Es war ein gemütlicher Abend mit Auftritten von Sonne Hagal, Forseti, Of The Wand And The Moon und dem Trio Noire ...Viele Bonuspunkte verbuchten auch Bearer Of The Inmost Sun beim sommerlichen Ironflame-Festival ... Ebenfalls nachhaltig beeindruckt haben mich Changes durch ihre Bühnenpräsenz beim diesjährigen Flammenzauber-Festival." persönlicher Wunsch: "Nach der reichen Ernte des vergehenden Jahres wünsche ich mir, daß die Erfüllung von Sehnsüchten auch im nächsten Jahr weitergeht. Bloß schade, daß die nicht zusammen touren könnten, das wäre perfekt. Dann wäre da noch Sacrificial Totem am 25. Juli ..." In a few words, who's saying that these are the times of uninteresting music? This is wrong, totally wrong! ... Other interesting stuff ... Knifeladder, Werkraum ... and more, much more really!" Event 2004: "I'm a really bad member of the audience, I get bored after 20 minutes of any gig. Even Morrissey at the Manchester MEN Arena in May with 16,999 other people ... I hadn't bought the new album at that point and didn't know the songs! And the bar was shit. Who drinks Carlsberg? Throbbing Gristle at the Astoria, London in May was ok, and Dry Kill Logic at the Underworld in August were great." persönlicher Wunsch: "TG give up reforming and Cold Spring hits the target of 10 albums of extreme quality and success!" Event 2004: "Sorry, I didn't get out much in 2004 but I saw the group Journey in concert and they were excellent. At the risk of answering one question twice, seeing B'eirth perform at the Flammenzauber was a fascinating show as when I hear his music it takes me to another place and time." persönlicher Wunsch: "To get back into pastel painting again to do paintings for paintings sake as I have abandoned it for a while and have only worked on computer graphics which I also love to do." René (Lichttaufe) Top 3: Forseti - Erde "Eines der wohl ausgewogensten Alben diesen Jahres. Auch die Gastmusiker haben sich gut eingebracht und geben dem Ganzen eine zusätzliche Note." Leger des Heils - Himmlische Feuer Haus Arafna - Butterfly Evergreen: In The Nursery - Sense  Event 2004: "Der Forseti Auftritt beim WGT. Ein tolles Konzert in einer schönen Atmosphäre. Habe mich sogar gewundert wie viele Leute dort waren." persönlicher Wunsch: "Nach einem eher verkorksten Jahr in privater wie beruflicher Hinsicht, kann der Leitspruch für das kommen Jahr eigentlich nur bedeuten -> Alles wird gut!" John Murphy (Knifeladder, The Sword Volcano Complex, Shining Vril, Death In June, SPK, Current 93 etc.) Top 3: Der Blutharsch - Time Is Thee Enemy "Basically my favorite D.B. release as I feel Albin and co have reached a new peak in musical adventure, diversity and creativity... plus you can tap your toes and do the Madison to it any old time ..." Einstürzende Neubauten - Perpetuum Mobile  "The dynamics, subtlety and varied and sculptured musical textures particularly impressed me over repeated playings of this CD ... also the ingenuous use of 'found sound sources' as an integral part of the overall concept ... plus the fact that they could reproduce this in a live setting ... Most impressive and inspiring ... " Naevus - Perfecton Is A Process  "This release is basically a 'cracker' utterly compelling at all levels, aesthetics, song writing, performance, musicianship, production ... just to name a few things... and I am not just saying this since I was involved with it's recording and appear on quite a few tracks ... I feel that this is their most realised release yet and in years to come be remembered by many far and wide over the globe as a genuine classic ... " Evergreen:"... it may not resonate too much with European Readers. But I am going to give you 2 of my all time Evergreen favourites (from literally hundreds). As for some strange reason I keep hearing them here (Australia) on the local radio of late. The first one would be the 1st album released in the mid 1970s by Split Enz (from New Zealand). Titled 'Mental Notes' ... In my opinion their best ever release and still a classic.  The 2nd Evergreen classsic that I recently kept hearing on the radio ... triggering many memories ... is a tune I loved when I was approx 13 years old and growing up in Melbourne, Australia. It is titled 'Go All The Way' and was the 1st Hit in 1972 for the US 70s Power Pop Act The Raspberries made me go weak at the knees." Event 2004:"I enjoyed my time at the Wave GotikTreffen Meet at the end of May this year ... just the general Atmosphere ... meeting old friends and performing ... and heaving a rather groovey if hectic time of it. I also enjoyed seeing Einstürzende Neubauten in London in April. A blinding show and performance ... I also enjoyed a rather eccentric and challenging act I saw in Portland, Oregon, USA in Sept. this year called 'The Animal Collective' ... well worth seeing." persönlicher Wunsch: "I personally wish for good health, wealth and general success for 2005. For myself and all of my friends around the globe. I also have a general and global wish that everyone that I know achieves their general aims without too much bother and/or bloodshed over the next 12 months. Could possibly a tall order perhaps. But it's worth attempting ... " Troy Southgate (H.E.R.R.) Top 3: Allerseelen - Flamme "I've been following the progress of Allerseelen since about 1998, but whilst Gerhard has always produced outstanding music, 'Flamme' is such a rich and diverse album that his incredible ability and genius has risen to yet another level. ..." Ostara - Ultima Thule  "... Richard Leviathan's brilliant songwriting and an ability to express melancholy, drama and tragedy in a highly catchy and infectious manner always leaves me reeling." H.E.R.R. - Es Regnet Das Leben Heraus "As for H.E.R.R., meanwhile, I was so impressed with Michiel Spape's compositions for 'Es Regnet Das Leben Heraus' that I later ended up joining the group myself ..." "Other albums that almost made my top three for 2004 are 'Neoterrik Research' (Schloss Tegal), ... 'Lest We Forget' (Marilyn Manson), ... 'Ten Stars, Ten Horns' (Tenhornedbeast), ... and, of course, the excellent 'Unsere Feuer Brennen' by Werkraum." Evergreen:"It's virtually impossible for me to choose one album from so many, but I think I would have to return to one of the favourites from my misspent youth: 'One Step Beyond' (Madness)." Event 2004: "Concerts were few and far between in 2004, at least in England, but for me the best was easily Ostara's appearence at the Slimelight in early September." persönlicher Wunsch: "I think I'd have to wish for the ultimate destruction of Americanisation and the return of small, automous communities in which Europeans can occupy their own space in which to live according to their own distinct priniciples." © 2005, Axel Frank/Lichttaufe
