Neues von Fin de SiècleFirst of all, we are proud to announce that our latest release has finally arrived from the pressing plant - it looks and sounds great! ________________________________________ FDS 15 SRMEIXNER THE DICTATORSHIP OF THE VIEWER CD From the ashes of leading experimental outfit Contrastate comes the self-named srmeixner project. Stephen Meixner was one half of the driving force behind Contrastate until their demise five years ago, and his latest project is a vehicle for him and various collaborators; the line-up is ever changing, with Stephen calling on whoever he feels is right for the music he is working on at any particular time. Few acts working in the area of electronics/experimental music come close to achieving the richness and diversity that srmeixner creates. Live electronics and field recordings are utilised to create a sonic soundtrack to an apocalyptic world, and this is the logical step on from the music that Contrastate created. After a few singles and the 2003 debut album "Between the Lines" on the prestigious label Dirter Promotions, we are proud to present "The Dictatorship of the Viewer" - inspired by the 2003 Venice Biennale. The core of this track was initially composed and structured together with Adrian Morris as a live piece which was first performed February 2004 in ondon and then later extended, added to and re-worked. ________________________________________ We want to thank everybody who pre-ordered this stunning album, your copies are on their way! To the people who haven't ordered it yet, we want to remind you about our special offer. Buy "The Dictatorship of the Viewer" together with the previous srmeixner album "Between the Lines", released by Dirter Promotions in 2003, and you'll get a free Fin de Siècle Media CDEP as well as free postage worldwide. The offer is valid until December 31, 2005 or as long as stock lasts - and only from: http://fdsmedia.gemm.com http://www.findesieclemedia.com/mailorder.html ________________________________________ PRAYER CUSHIONS OF THE FLESH From November 21, Fin de Siecle Media will stock this interesting British short silent film. Directed by Magnus Irvin and Ray McNeill with soundtrack composed by Caesar Romero (which hopefully will be released on Fin de Siècle Media soon), it's an adaptation of Robert Irwin's erotic and perverse novel about a young sultan's sexual rites of passage with the royal harem. The bored young women have formed a secret society and plan to sacrifice the sultan after a series of sexually explicit rituals. You can expect a dark, decadent and surreal journey into the sexual underworld. The film is shot in b/w and mixes live footage with remarkable animations.
